Oblique Views
- For nice, dramatic lunar scenes, oblique views are best and can simulate a view from a spacecraft. To obtain a nice oblique view of a feature or crater, we can combine lunar rotation, camera rotation and zoom.
For best effect, set the phase shading want and then move the feature of interest near to the limb of the lunar image to view it from and oblique or off-to-the-side view
This is an oblique view of Mare Orientale at the top limb.
The best magnified zoom detail with less pixelization is achieved with an oblique view near the limbs or horizon, as demonstrated by the above rendering. Pixelization can be tricky when using zoom, just be careful not to go too extreme with it.
